Our charming city sits at the junction of Highway 51/39 and Highway 29. Along both sides of the Wisconsin River, Wausau is a great place for both work and play that gives you the convenience of a city with the feel of the Northwoods. It is also home to three higher education institutions: Northcentral Technical College, UW-Stevens Point at Wausau, and State College of Beauty Culture.
Downtown and the River District play a vital role to the area with government, retail, and professional offices. Explore local shops and the mall for a day out, or spend some time among the area’s artists. You can visit the Wausau Museum of Contemporary Art, The Grand Theater, and the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum. Also, be sure to keep an eye out for annual events downtown!
